The Kids I Know

How often do you hear people questioning the youth of America? Many of my weekends are spent with young adults aged 18 to 22 that will make you think twice about the future. These young people dedicate themselves to one singular purpose - perform music at the highest level. They sacrifice their social lives, bodies and spirit for the greater good of the group.

The activity is indoor percussion.

I am fortunate to serve as Vice President to the Board of Directors for Pulse Percussion and volunteer to help with various administrative and marketing needs. The members of the ensembles (Pulse fields two competitive percussion ensembles) sacrifice hundreds of hours to perfect a seven minute show. It’s truly a selfless dedication to one another that contributes to the success of the performance.

WGI Sport of the Arts is the national governing body of the activity and in April they host the WGI World Championships in Dayton, Ohio. The video below showcases the amazing talent of young performers. Enjoy.
