Switch Joy-Cons work on iPhone

Switch Joy-Cons work on iPhone

With the release of iOS 16 and iPad OS 15, your iPhone and iPad now natively support Joy-Cons. Yes, Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons.

To pair your Joy-Cons, go to settings and open up the Bluetooth settings. Hold down the little button on the inside of your Joy-Con until you see a blinking green light. Click on the left Joy-Con if you're starting with the left. Then, go over to the right Joy-Con, hold down the little button, wait for the lights to turn on, and click on it once it appears on your phone.

Now that you've paired your Joy-Cons, let's take a look at the simple controller setup for your phone or iPad. The device is being sold by FreshPrintsRC on eBay and on Etsy for $25 US plus shipping. It's a lightweight 3D-printed device that fits your Joy-Cons nicely and has a little screw on the back so you can tighten it to the location you want.

While it would have been nice to have a bit more padding inside the groove where the phone goes against, there's enough space in there for you to place your own. For $25, it's a good get if you want to try something new and bring your Joy-Cons with you on the go.

Although there are no motion controls or rumble, all the buttons work, including ZL, RL, ZR, ZR, both D-pads, joysticks, and all face buttons.

Overall, if you're a fan of the Switch and want to use your Joy-Cons on your iPhone or iPad, this is an easy and fun way to do it. It's a great investment for $25, and you'll find yourself using it more than you expected. Have fun with the games!
